Medium format from the past few weeks.
Right now in Philadelphia there is the Philly Book Festival. It may be raining outside but I am especially excited to see what used books they will have. In today's world a used book is like a little gem. They hold so much history and tiny treasures- even their smell is unique and wonderful. Anyway, yesterday we went to a lecture on Mickey Burton, a graphic designer redesigning book covers of old classics like Lord Of The Flies, To Kill A Mockingbird, and The Great Gatsby at the Free Library of Philadelphia. I even ended up with a free screen-print poster for The Outsiders!

I completely agree with your idea on used books. It's like old houses, you can't help but think who has lived their lives in the house before you. x
these pictures are also very nice :)
how do you teach your boyfriend to take good pictures of you as well? lol
Very lovely photos. I have just happened upon you and have realized we both live in the same place :)
Melisa: Thank you very much!
Pralink: wow, thank you! I appreciate it. :)
Modekarussell: Thank you! These were all shot with a relatively inexpensive medium format camera we found on ebay.
Krystal: I am having a good day, thank you. :) And is the book you're reading about Jeeves the butler? (I read a short story the other day with a character of the same name and he was the wonderfully haughty butler type fellow). It was a great read! :)
Marguerite: No you're not at all. I hope it's not pretentious of me to say but those kind of words really help me feel more positive about my work. Thank you so very much!!!
V: I just visited you blog and I loved it! (which isn't always the case). You have a new follower! :)
Joanna: No you are! :)
Rania: thank you :)
Sophie: I really appreciate you sweet words. thank you! I hope you had a pleasant weekend too. Mine was lovely. :)
Rebecca: Yes free! I love free stuff. And I loved the shadow too, he was just sitting there and I yelled freeze. Luckily he's used to that now. ;)
Something You've Misplaced: yes yes yes! I completely agree. a rule jeff and I have with used books is if we find an inscription on the inside cover we know instantly that its a keeper!
E: Thank you! but he doesn't really take them. Mostly, I just used a tripod and a self timer. The only time jeff ever presses the shutter is if I set the image up and need some help setting it off. He's a wonderful helper :)
Kelly: Hello fellow philadelphian! Its always nice to meet neighbors! :)
lovely pictures! and the book festival sounds like fun too!
ah i seeeee. well you've got a good eye for self-portraits then. i usually feel too silly & vain to try lol
